I mentioned in a recent blog that I would continue to update you on “our family room”. At this point, we are almost finished – the built-ins are completed, sectional has arrived and we are using some of our old accent pieces! While the finishing touches remain to be completed, today I wanted to share some of the “accent painting” we did that really adds interest, warmth, color and texture to the room. I already shared that we white washed our brick fireplace, so to compliment that change we created an accent wall (Sherwin Williams faux paint techniques) that mimics the old plaster walls of Tuscany. It is the perfect backdrop to our media center. On the other side of the room, I added a great console table that I found for $15.00 at a flea market. We painted it a glossy red and wow! It really pops! Once our window treatments are hung – the table will be the perfect compliment! We really love our family room – it is morphing into an updated but transitionally style room!
