Updating Theta House
Redecorating a Theta House
I had the pleasure of joining the design team for the Kappa Alpha Theta Foundation to redecorate the Zeta Tau house on the University of Delaware campus yesterday. The team, headed by Karen Ledbetter and joined by designers who are all Theta alums, provide their expertise pro bono to redecorate various Theta houses throughout the country.
What fun to create a beautiful new living space for the sisters of Kappa Alpha Theta. Our theme was based our colors of gold and black and designed in a timeless style but adding youthful accents. The girls will arrive in September to beautiful gold tweed sectional, leather ottoman and beautiful cherry entertainment center and much more. On one wall a custom piece of art that includes our symbol, the kite, and allows for the addition of current photos of the sisters.
The amount time and effort by Karen and her team to create these spaces is remarkable and certainly a labor of love for the Sorority or as Karen refers to as “her passion”. I was so thrilled to join the team on this install and plan to continue my contributions as often as I am needed and time allows.
