The Reclaimed wood industry started in the 1970’s but really took off in the 1990’s when building “green” became so important to our environment. Today, reclaimed wood is used for everything from kitchen cabinetry to architectural details to furniture. In fact, it is so popular today it is becoming increasingly difficult to source. Reclaimed wood furniture is one of my favorite decorating choices. The right piece works in almost any décor from modern to traditional. It provides such character – your personal taste which creates a unique look that only your space will have. There are many companies today specializing in reclaimed wood furnishings, but you can also find great buys at Home Goods and at antique and collectable shops. This family room boosts of a reclaimed wood coffee table and media stand.
